Bob Yancy
for Mayor
Bob Yancy graduated high school in Katy, Texas. He married his high school sweetheart, Kristi, and enlisted in the US Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1989 and moved his family of four to College Station to finish his degree at A&M.
In the early 90s, Bob took a job as Public Information Officer for the City of College Station. This gave him unique insights into City Hall, where he designed the city's first website and communicated city news to citizens.
In 2000, Bob and Kristi formed MEMdata, a medical technology firm that grew to serve hospitals in 42 states, Canada, Mexico and South Korea while creating jobs here in College Station. Bob & Kristi sold MEMdata in 2014.
Bob successfully completed the maximum of 9 years on the board of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, in 2022. He served 6 years as the health system's first board chairman.
In 2012, Bob Yancy was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas Statewide Healthcare Council and was asked to extend his tenure by Governor Abbott.
In 2021, Congressman Pete Sessions appointed Yancy as chairman of the nonpartisan Service Academy Selection Committee for 2 years.

Bob was first elected to City Council, Place 5, in November of 2022. He announced his candidacy for re-election in the November 2024 election, wherein he was the only council candidate in College Station or Bryan that drew no challenger.
Today, Bob & Kristi lease quality, well-maintained single family homes and commercial property to job-creating businesses. Bob & Kristi know firsthand how our city's growth can impact neighborhood integrity.
Both of Bob & Kristi's grown children and their spouses are proud Aggies. Bob & Kristi are proud grandparents of five.
Achievements, Accountability & Results
Public Safety
Received simultaneous endorsements from the College Station Police Officers Association and the College Station Fire Fighters Association. Consistent advocate for competitive pay, equipment, and staffing so College Station becomes a destination department.
Neighborhood Protection
Whether at council or testifying before the state legislature in Austin, a consistent champion of Neighborhood Integrity and the policies that protect it.
Previously endorsed by the College Station Association of Neighborhoods.
Brokered the Rosemary Drive wastewater compromise that protected Beverly Estates while advancing necessary infrastructure.
Opposed the Pebble Creek Parkway extension and expansion to ensure quiet and safe neighborhood streets.

Championed policies that protected our permanent resident neighborhoods, like increased code enforcement.
Transparency & Accountability
Led the successful opposition to the Midtown data center and secured stronger NDA and disclosure policies so major projects cannot be shielded from public and council scrutiny.
Since day one, fought to right-size the City Hall organization chart so citizens come first, Council carries the citizens’ vision and authority, and staff executes that vision. Together we choose the destiny of our city — and your vote matters most.
Parks, Recreation & Quality of Life
Supported a private-sector funding initiative to finally bring adequate youth softball and baseball facilities to our city.
A consistent voice in the effort to improve Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater with seating, shade structures, and enhanced musical performances — an effort now underway.
Supported Texas Independence Park and drove accountability for contractor soils testing failure, resulting in hundreds of thousands in pending recuperated tax dollars and a successful repurposing of the now budgeted park.
Led the way in protecting Northgate and supporting continued efforts to enhance, maintain, and secure this key entertainment district.
Public Health Leadership
As Chairman of the Brazos County Board of Health, guided the district through the loss of federal funding, pivoted to sustainable local solutions, added crucial mental health capacity, and positioned the department for full public health accreditation while actively pursuing an Academic Health Department (AHD) designation in partnership with Texas A&M.
Regional Collaboration & Partnership
Chair of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Brazos Valley Council of Governments — bringing College Station, Bryan, and surrounding counties together monthly on water, infrastructure, and economic issues that no single city can solve alone.
Business & Economic Development
Founded and grew MEMdata into a company serving hospitals in 42 states before its successful acquisition — bringing real private-sector job-creation and business acumen to and fiscal discipline to City Hall.
As a member of the Economic Development Subcommittee, a consistent advocate for job-creating economic development efforts both from the dais and as an ambassador to the business community.
Consistent endorsements received from builders, realtors, chamber members, and business leaders in efforts to ensure our city is more business friendly.
On the proposed SpaceX Terafab project in Grimes County, advocated for planning ahead on housing, infrastructure, workforce, and regional coordination so College Station is prepared for potential growth impacts rather than reacting after the fact.
